Dr. Ramesh Sivathanu has been appointed as Executive Manager - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment at Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL). He joins OPAL from Rukun Al Yaqeen International LLC where he had served as Senior Manager - HSE.

 

Parallel to his career as Senior Manager - HSE, Dr. Ramesh also worked as a trainer delivering OPAL's HSE Certification Programme (HSECP)

OPAL’s First Team Building Event

OPAL employees enjoyed a staff outgoing on Wednesday 11th June 2014 that involved working on team building skills. The event was a good opportunity to enhance team-spirit, strengthen positive communication, and improve employees’ morale and productivity which ultimately will result in improving team performance.

 

Under the patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali, President of Majles A’Shura, Shell Development Oman (SDO) held its annual Careers and Prospects graduation ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Muscat on Monday 23rd June 2014.

 

OPAL’s First Lunch and Learn

 The OPAL Family gathered on Wed. 28th May 2014, to have their first Lunch and Learn event. The monthly event is focused on stressing the importance of employee’s ownership of own learning and development, rapport and team-building and providing an opportunity for socializing within the casual atmosphere created by this initiative.

Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) has signed two contracts of the cost of OMR 135,000/- Shell Development Oman (SDO) as an agreement to facilitate and oversee vocational training for 36 Omanis under its Training-For-Employment (TFE) Scheme; the signing ceremony took place on 11/05/2014 at SDO’s office in Mina Al Fahal.

As communicated at OPAL AGM 2014 on 24 March 2014, OPAL’ board has resolved to extend the waiver issued vide OPAL Circular dated 02 December 2012, to be valid till 31 December 2014, for the purpose of considering the issuing of CVC.

Graduation Ceremony under OPAL's Training-for-Development Theme/Scheme

OPAL organized a graduation ceremony for graduates of its popular Human Resources Certification Programmes (HRCP). The event was held in Jan 2014 at the Institute of the Public Administration under the patronage of H.E. Sayyed Salim bin Muslam Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service for Administrative Development Affairs.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) for 2014 is set to be held on Monday the 24th of March 2014 at 10:00 am, at Crown Plaza Muscat Hotel. All OPAL active members have been sent a formal invitation to attend.
